Dr. Layne Michelle Kumetz received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley,
and went on to get her Medical Degree from the prestigious University of Michigan, one of
the top 10 Medical Schools in the country.
She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the highly acclaimed Cedars Sinai Medical Center, where she
continues to perform surgery, deliver babies, participate in resident education and is a member of the hospital’s
Ethics Committee and part of Cedars-Sinai Obstetrics and Gynegological Services group
She has published articles in various peer-reviewed journals including Fertility and Sterility and The Journal of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology, the online journal “Medscape Ob/Gyn & Women’s Health”, and she is a
co-author in the latest gynecology textbook Clinical and Reproductive Medicine and Surgery. She has presented
original research at the national level.
As an exceptionally trained gynecologic surgeon and active member of the American Association of Gynecologic
Laparoscopists, she is committed to providing her patients with minimally invasive surgical options that allow for less
post-operative pain and faster recovery times.
She is also a Qualified Medical Evaluator for the workers compensation system, and speaks Spanish.
